Answer: Each drawer is A3 size with a capacity of 34 liters. -

Will it fit a4 size books in?
Answer: Yes, easily. You can fit two A4 book stacks comfortably and the height can fit a DVD open side down with title spine facing up. This unit is very solid, though I'm not sure I would use it for heavy books. It's perfect for clothing, heavy linens, utility odds and ends, etc. We've been very happy with it. Great for use as a desk tidy (some mixed books and paper). -

If this item is already assembled, why isn't it mentioned in the description?
Answer: It isn't assembled. But it only took me 5-10 minutes to put it all together. Looked at it last night as took some crisp from it and thought a fantastic product and good choice I made. Excellent storage container. -

Answer: No idea, mine came quickly. -

Does it come assembled?
Answer: If you mean ready assembled, yes I think so. If not completely, it's really easy to put together. There are four little wheels which need to be inserted into the base but otherwise it's ready to go. It suits me perfectly: my printer sits on top, and it holds a huge amount of stuff in the drawers beneath. -

Answer: The item needs no assembling. It comes as a solid unit. You need to add the wheels if you want. I am using them without the wheels. So if I understand the question correctly, yes, they are stackable without the wheels. -
