While they provided a reliable four square match on an acid sterilising mix, there were difficulties in obtaining a reasonable match on alkali beer lines cleaner. Therefore, it seems that these strips may not be suitable for testing high alkaline substances. However, others found the results to be quite accurate when tested on different substances, especially for homemade face wash.
