How is the converter installed into the system?
Answer: The converter can be installed internally through the SFF-8611/8612 oculink interface. -

Where do I get the cover for the winmax 2, the m.2 cover with an opening for the oculink port? Is it printable?
Answer: You’ll need to print the part yourself using a 3D printer and a readily available design online, or cut a small hole with a Dremel tool in the original cover that the Win Max 2 shipped with. -
Question:
I see this has a power switch, will the unit cut off when I power off my PC?
Answer: With the power switch enabled, it will always be on. With the power switch turned off, it will turn on and off with the PCIe connection. -
Question:
Is it PCIe 3.0 or 4.0? What comes in the box?
Answer: Only adapter, supports PCIE4.0, compatible with PCIE3.0 2.0. -
Question:
Is there a way to connect this to the power switch of a PC case? e.g. if I want to just install this, a PSU, and GPU in a mini ITX case?
Answer: With the switch turned on, on the adapter, it only activates power when the system initializes PCIe. So it will turn on and off with the system.
