Answer: The problem is not with the bottom seal is the problem is with the inside valve it is not seating. I replaced the whole inside unit and it fixed the problem. The leak is coming from the inside not the bottom seal. -

Answer: Yes, this will fit. Pay attention when you take the old one off. Pretty easy replacement. Mine has worked great! : ) Good Luck! -

How long dose the part 1188999 2" toilet canister last?
Answer: Really, the question should be about the "gasket" instead of the Canister Kit (the kits last forever). The gasket comes in two colors, the normal one is red and will not last that long. Kohler makes a Yellow replacement gasket which is a better product. Go to YouTube and search for repair leaky Kohler toilet to find many examples of how to replace the gasket. I would suggest putting the Yellow gasket on when you install the Canister Kit. -

Answer: Best way to see if it fits is to look under the tank lid. There is a picture of the parts and their numbers that fit your tank. Good Luck.
