Question:
Can I use a DC12V or DC24V power supply?
Answer: No, the LED strip only supports DC5V and using a higher voltage can damage the strip. -
Question:
Is the strip waterproof?
Answer: No, the IP30 option is non-waterproof while the IP65 option comes with double-sided tape for easy installation. The IP67 option comes with fixing clips and screws. -
Question:
Does it come with a power supply or controller?
Answer: No, these need to be purchased separately. -
Question:
Are these indoor only?
Answer: They are fine outdoors, but will suffer UV damage to its silicone based covering, which will cloud and yellow. I have been using these outdoors in my display for about 9 months and have had only a few problems with water infiltration at ends where I have soldered wires and connectors. -
Question:
Is a 5v20a power supply required for an entire single strip of ws2812b eco?
Answer: The LEDs at the far end of the strip might be dimmer because of the added resistance and voltage drop that occurs as the current flows to that end of the strip. This is a normal physical phenomenon, and all the LED strip cannot avoid this problem. The factors that affect brightness are：1.Length . If your project is too long , the voltage drops . 2.Power supply . Make sure the power is enough for the project . 3.Lighting effect . Full white lighting effect will consume a lot of energy .When you Light up 1 color（red or green or blue or pure white) 0.1W/LED . Light up 2 colors (red+green) 0.2W/LED , Light up 3 colors (red+green+blue=mixed white) 0.3W/LED 4.Brightness. The brighter the brightness, the more the consumption Solution：1.Adding voltage every 5 meters (16.4ft) . 2.Lower brightness 3.Enough power 4.Avoid full white lighting effect . 5.Using DC12V or DC24V LED strip. 6.Use 30LEDs/m to instead of 60LEDs/m If you just light up some chasing color not full white light , DC5V10A 50W is also OK.
