The Dewalt DCH481B is a powerful cordless roto-hammer drill that is great for heavy-duty applications such as breaking up concrete slabs, drilling deep holes into the foundation slab, chiselling or bushing. It should work well even for drilling into ground that has random rock in it, drilling 4 inch holes through foundation walls or driving steel T-posts into clay soil. However, it is not recommended to use this to drive a 3/4" ground rod. It has good battery life (around 300 6" headlok screws with a 9Ah battery) and is lightweight, but it doesn't come with a case. The 54V battery won't work with this model. In terms of customer reviews, most are positive with customers finding it to be powerful and efficient for drilling through various materials. Some customers have had issues with the tip breaking after initial use or missing features mentioned in the manual such as variable speed trigger or a bit stop. One user lamented that the product is single speed and finding a compatible side handle with a 3" diameter ring on a side handle was challenging. Another customer mentioned that battery-drain is significant and they needed between 2-3 6Ah batteries to complete a job.
