Million Dollar Collar Collar Stays Editorial Review
MDCs (Metal Collar Stays) have received mixed reviews and feedback from customers. The product is easy to install for those who have had prior experience with a sewing machine. However, the process of opening the seam to insert the stays can be challenging with fraying occurring on some shirts. There have been varying opinions on the durability of the stays, with some customers reporting the end tips being fragile and breaking off after a few washes. The product is best used on dress shirts rather than polos, although some people have modified the stays to work for polos. MDC offers a 10 pack option that is good for 10 shirts and will last the lifetime of each shirt, and this option appears to be well received amongst customers. The product can be washed, dried, ironed, laundered, or even dry-cleaned after installation, and the shirt should be stored with the top three buttons fastened. The notches on the product help guide the placement of the stay in the collar band, with one side of the notch resting right under the button, and the other side resting under the buttonhole.
