Spectrum is a liquid sound deadener that needs self etching fiber glass primer to bond to the fiber glass surface. Once the primer is cured, Spectrum will bond well, and applying (3) 1 mm coats will achieve the recommended thickness. It takes 30-60 minutes between coats above 50 degrees F. However, this product is only supposed to reduce sound on metal surfaces and is designed to eliminate sympathetic vibration. It will not stop loud noises through walls of floors. Moreover, it is waterproof so that it won't come off with water when it gets wet. The product is excellent when correctly applied to the surface. Looking at the reviews, the product has both good and bad feedback. A few customers found the product to be garbage as it wouldn't stick, cracked or flaked off while others praised its ability to leave a factory finish look once dry. One customer used Spectrum for his rally car and found it disappointing. He was unhappy with the usage experience and wished he had not spent so much money on it as it ruined everything. Some customers who used Spectrum on their cars were impressed with the product as it reduced the vibration and noise level. They found it easy to apply and effective, with zero to tolerable fumes.
