What is the difference between regular and cold weather formulas?
Answer: Cold Weather Penetrating Epoxy is suitable for 40-65 degrees F temperatures while regular formula works best between 65-90 degrees F temperatures. -

What types of wood can I use this sealer on?
Answer: It is suitable for all types of softwoods and hardwoods including cedar, cypress, fir, pine, redwood, ipe, mahogany, maple, oak, and teak. -

Is this sealer environment-friendly?
Answer: Yes, it has no VOCs or harsh fumes. -
Question:
What is sq. ft. of coverage for a quart?
Answer: I covered 80 sq feet with product to spare. -
Question:
What is the work time with this product?
Answer: Application @ 40°F: Pot life is 40 minutes, full cure takes 4 days and Application @ 80°F: Pot life is 20 minutes, full cure takes 2 days. -
Question:
What is the coverage of the gallon size?
Answer: The "gallon" size will actually yield 1.5 gallons of liquid once mixed with the hardener. The coverage depends on too many variables to really give a straight answer. -
Question:
How many square feet will a pint of the cold weather formula cover?
Answer: Coverage is dependent on just how porous the wood structure is. It works by penetrating deep into the wood. -
Question:
Can totalboat clear penetrating epoxy wood sealer be thinned with mineral spirits?
Answer: This product can be thinned for deeper penetration, but we recommend using either acetone or denatured alcohol. -
Question:
Has anyone considered this to seal grout around tiles? More specifically, I am considering it for my pool.
Answer: Could work, but would be purely experimental. -
Question:
Can this be exposed to weather during the cure process? 4 days without rain is a big ask. Can it cure properly with a 24-48 hour head start?
Answer: Definitely do not get it wet within the first 24 hours. After 24 it will still be a bit tacky, if you can wait 48 hours that would be preferable. -
Question:
Can this product be used to stabilize wood in a vacuum chamber?
Answer: I would call customer service for Total Boat. -
Question:
How does it work behr deck stain over your epoxy treated wood?, The stain has latex in it
Answer: I would stain the wood first and then let it dry out, really dry out. Then put on the epoxy. -
Question:
Does this equal a half gallon after mixing or before?
Answer: You get 1 gallon of resin and a half gallon of hardener. This is all before you mix the two.
